MARKET JOURNAL 2008

We left Cape Girardeau on our semi-annual journey to the Atlanta Market on Thursday, July 10th.  We had a nice drive down (no incidents ~ meaning Mike managed to get Unleaded instead of Diesel fuel into the vehicle this time!) He he he...
Also, if you have ever tried to navigate Atlanta in rush hour ~ oh my! It takes two pairs of good eyes to cross seven lanes of traffic and get to the proper exit...but we did it!!!

This is a shot of the CNN Center and Olympic
Park as we approached the hotel. There are
still many damaged windows from the
tornado that hit Atlanta a few months ago.

This is a picture taken from our room at the
CNN Center!

At 5:30 pm, we walked over to Market and registered there, picking up the book of vendors and checking out a few special displays on the first floor before they closed at 6:00.

Here is the book of vendors we went through
to plan our Friday  (665 pages!!)

And here's another inside shot from our
room, looking into the news room at CNN!

After spending hours making notes with the vendor books Thursday night, we headed to Market early Friday morning as the last of the remaining Olympic Park torches were put in place from the tornado destruction.

Sherry on the way to market. :)

Here is a picture of the last olympic torch pillar arriving

back at the park after the tornado destruction

several months ago.

Crosswalks are WAY UP HIGH!!!  :0

Sherry (who is afraid of heights!!!) walked quickly across the crosswalks, not even waiting for Mike!

Swollen Feet - Ouch!!!

Can't give too much away ~ But guess what...awesome things are on their way to Renaissance, and the store will be transformed again in several weeks...with new home decor, lamps, artwork, gifts, books, jewelry etc. etc. etc...

I also spent several days picking up a trailer full of awesome Vintage pieces to add to the mix very soon! Come in when you can to see what's new!

Artfully yours,
